Everyone gets a vote

A letter in the Guardian magazine, shattering that tedious stereotype about its woolly-minded readers:

"Why do some women want to look like rubber dolls? Is it because some plastic surgeons are male?"

Why do some people want to lose weight? Is it because dieticians are thin?

I wonder if the Guardian letter-writer intended this as an extension of the controversial but popular school of thought, 'models are skinny / catwalk fashions don't suit curvy women because fashion designers are all gay men'.
If so, you might conceivably be able to debate whether men control women's image.
But it's not at all clear that this is what she meant. Maybe she's sitting at home cursing the Guardian's brutal editing of her original, perfectly constructed letter.
